Modern day window systems can be made of wood, plastic, a wood-metal combination or entirely of metal, but regardless of their construction method, they all have one thing in common: They perform an important function with respect to fire protection, thermal insulation, soundproofing and weather protection. Thermal and noise insulation are of primary importance in window construction.
At Datwyler, we manufacture our sealing solutions for window systems using co-extruded profiles, which can be supplemented by an additional foamed part if required and comply with the highest requirements. In addition, due to the hard-soft combination, they simplify the efficient seamless extension of glazing gaskets around the windows. Besides, the corner construction can be further simplified by moldings. Thus, for example, vulcanized corner shaping has proved successful to date in particularly demanding applications. Furthermore, our co-extruded profiles can be designed with colored visible surfaces, if required, without forgoing the excellent mechanical properties of the material.
