Datwyler shortlisted for Pharmaceutical Technology's Environmental Impact Award
January 11, 2022
Pharmaceutical Technology, a leading pharmaceutical industry media, has announced its Excellence Awards for 2021. In the process, the Environmental Impact Award was given to Alliance-to-Zero. In the same category, Datwyler was shortlisted thanks to its multiple measures to reduce its environmental footprint. The Alliance-to-Zero was founded in 2021 by Datwyler and seven other companies of the pharmaceutical supply chain. Pharmaceutical Technology recognizes the eight companies’ initiative to reduce their environmental footprint and transition to net-zero emissions through proactive collaboration across the supply chain.

The awards by Pharmaceutical Technology show that Datwyler is on the right track with its further developed sustainability strategy. With twelve focus topics, the company aims to reduce its environmental footprint and create added value for all stakeholders. Each topic bundles activities related to current and future projects and contains clear responsibilities with measurable targets and quantifiable key performance indicators for effective management.
Among other things, Datwyler is aiming for climate neutrality (Scope 1 and 2) at all its own sites by 2030, based on the science-based targets approach. By 2021, Datwyler has already sourced some 40% of its global electricity requirements from renewable energy sources.
