Datwyler's engagement
for clean drinking water

Most residents of the Indian state of Maharashtra, where Datwyler’s Indian Healthcare Solutions plant is located, have access to groundwater. However, its quality is compromised with bacteriological contamination. Waterborne diseases resulting from this situation pose a burden to the population’s health and livelihood. To address the need for safe water, Datwyler supported in 2022 the deployment of 17 AquaTower systems in Maharashtra. These provide clean, safe drinking water to meet the requirements of up to 30,600 people, and the project also includes Planet Water‘s Hygiene Education Program and an AquaSan surface disinfection system.
We’ve never had any clean water facilities in our school so we are always distressed by the fact that our children are at high risk of getting sick. We are grateful that Datwyler gave us an AquaTower because we would not worry anymore about where our students would get water to drink.

The partnership with Planet Water has already began in 2019. To date, Datwyler has supported a total of 33 AquaTowers, providing drinking water for some 60’000 people.
