System-critical elastomer components for attractive markets.
The high-tech company Datwyler focuses on high-quality, system-critical elastomer components and holds leading positions in attractive global markets such as Healthcare, Mobility, Connectivity, General Industry and Food & Beverage. These markets are characterized by long-term growth drivers and very high entry barriers due to demanding regulatory requirements, long-standing customer relations, high product quality and long learning curves.
Growth drivers include, for example, demographic change, the growing middle class in emerging markets and the increase in chronic diseases, but also electrification, connectivity, Internet-of-Things and Industry 4.0. Among other things, Datwyler components in billions of syringes and in every second car around the world make an important contribution to patient and driver safety under demanding conditions. In addition, new Datwyler components and materials for electric vehicles support the transformation to e-mobility and the achievement of climate targets.
Datwyler materializes ideas for a safer, smarter and more sustainable world. In doing so, the overall strategic priorities of profitable growth, sustainability, agility and digitalization and the associated track record make the company an attractive partner for all stakeholders. With clearly defined sustainability focus areas and specific measures, Datwyler lives up to its social and environmental responsibility.
The central basis for all markets served and all products is provided by Datwyler's core competencies, which are recognized by global customers: solution design, material know-how and operational excellence. The unique combination of these core competencies enables Datwyler as a strategic development partner to accompany existing and new customers from the design study through the prototype phase to global series production and to generate added value.

Datwyler elastomer components make a significant contribution to the functionality and quality of customer systems, while at the same time contributing very little to the total cost of these systems. Decades of close customer relationships and long-standing customer system platforms result in recurring and growing revenues with leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, connector manufacturers, mobility companies, capsule coffee suppliers and many other renowned companies.
With sales in more than 100 countries and over 8’000 employees, Datwyler generates annual revenue of more than CHF 1’100 million. Regionally, some 55% of revenue is generated in Europe, 25% in North and South America and 20% in Asia. Some 70% of revenue comes from low cyclical and long-term growing markets.
As a basis for the production of system-critical elastomer components, Datwyler primarily purchases raw materials such as synthetically produced, petroleum-based elastomer raw materials, plastics, aluminum, metals and operating supplies. To this end, Datwyler works with some 400 major international raw material suppliers worldwide. These are managed centrally by the global procurement function with the aim of strengthening local procurement. Geographically, some 65% of raw materials come from Europe, 20% from Asia and 15% from the USA. These more than 65’000 tons of raw materials per year are processed at the production sites on four continents.
In a first production step, elastomer compounds are manufactured in the company's own mixing plants and metal molds are made in the company's own moldmaking shop. In a second step, Datwyler processes the elastomer compounds into system-critical components using the metal moulds on state-of-the-art presses. In recent years, Datwyler has implemented a comprehensive investment program to expand production capacity and integrated value-enhancing acquisitions. Headquartered in Switzerland, the company looks back on more than 100 years of successful history and has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since 1986 (security no. 3048677).
