Cutting-edge aluminium packaging and sealing materials from Datwyler offer just that. At Datwyler, we work closely with our customers to develop exact sealing solutions they need for their specific product. Thereby, we are able to meet all the high requirements for materials and mixtures. For the Food & Beverage market, we offer both high-grade aluminum capsules and seals that are applied in the Form in Place Gaskets (FIPG) process.
Our liquid silicone rubber (LSR) sealing solutions are based on one of our core areas of expertise. We refer to Form in Place Gaskets (FIPG) or High Precision Dosing (HDP) processes. Aided by a production process which is targeted to meet the customer’s application needs, silicone as well as other materials in a liquid state, such as polyurethanes, hot-melt adhesives and adhesives, can be processed reliably – and, due to this high-precision metering, with guaranteed optimal material use.
We meet the requirements for packaging materials for consumer goods with our experience in high-speed precision deep-drawing for thin-walled aluminum packaging. Aluminum is approved as a high-grade material for use with foodstuffs and, because of its excellent barrier properties, guarantees long-term optimal protection of the contents. An additional and attractive advantage of this material is its unlimited recyclability. We convert the high-quality, colored and coated aluminum foils into suitable packaging materials applying our expertise in the field of material press molding under near-clean room conditions. Precision deep-drawing ensures that the functionality and quality of the packaging material are retained – even in the production of large quantities.

Packaging that has direct contact with foodstuffs must meet special requirements. Given our range of services and exceptional quality standards, we can provide our customers a reliable, high level of service and security in the use-appropriate packaging of their products. Our dedicated and experienced team at the Swiss location Schattdorf works in partnership with our customers to develop products as requested. The expertise ranges from the development phase to serial production – and if needed, even enables the product to be transferred to mass production. Elements of these product services are: Feasibility studies, project management, material testing, compliance testing, technology and process development, prototyping and industrialization.
Throughout the entire process chain, Datwyler operates in accordance with statutory regulations and strict regulations in the field of food packaging. We act in accordance with applicable food contact directives. Upon customer request, we can design and test the products in accordance with the current regulations (FDA, EU regulation, BfR and the Swiss regulation). Because of our many years of experience in various technologies, and based on our product know-how, we guarantee high-efficiency manufacturing processes in superlative quality under clean-room conditions. Our in-house laboratory features all the essential physical and chemical analytical methods, including FTIR, DSC, TGA and viscosity measurement that we can use when creating and developing the product. We work closely with external institutions on all other testing and analysis procedures that may be required (e.g. REM, TOF SIMS).
Based on this, we develop customized and high-quality products – designed according to specific material requirements and for the customer’s individual application.
