Best in-class syringe components
for high safety and functionality.
The most important characteristic of plungers is functionality. Plungers need to guarantee a smooth gliding in the syringe barrel — even if used in multiple-use syringes that are stored for a period of up to five years. Our syringe components combine optimum breaking and gliding forces with a superior level of chemical purity and safety.
At Datwyler, we have gathered a broad range of expertise in compound development, prototyping, and project management throughout the company so that we can meet our customers’ specific application requirements. Our material knowledge plays an important part in this.
Materials
We offer different material compounds including latex-free compounds for demanding applications, materials suitable for gamma and ethylene oxide (EtO) sterilizations, and materials that are in compliance with major Pharmacopoeias, among others. Furthermore, our plungers offer absence of metal contamination, low level of metal extraction, and optional camera inspection to guarantee a manufacturing level of utmost quality in the healthcare market.
Plungers for manually-activated and pump-activated syringes.
We at Datwyler offer black plungers for disposable syringes. Within this product category, we offer two product lines to meet our customers’ needs. Firstly, we offer plungers and suitable gaskets for manually-activated syringes, which size from 0.3 to 50 ml. are produced in alignment with the Datwyler Essential manufacturing level.
Secondly, we produce plungers including proper gaskets for pump-activated syringes sizing from 50 up to 200 ml. The plunger stoppers are equipped with double sealing rings to allow a slow aspiration or infusion of drug solutions. We produce our plungers for pump-activated syringes in all our manufacturing levels, including FirstLine®.
Each of our components is offered for both manually-activated and pump-activated syringes. Depending on their applications, each of our plunger solutions is custom designed while dedicated material compounds are being used. In addition, each is suitable for high-precision gliding.
