The Datwyler apprentice camp has been a tradition for over 30 years. This year, the first-year apprentices supported the alpine herdsmen on the Urnerboden.

The rating agency for sustainability performance, EcoVadis, has awarded Datwyler the platinum standard for the first time. The award puts the company in the top 1% of more than 130,000 companies from over 180 countries assessed.

First-year apprentices lend a hand in the forest and plant 225 trees.

As part of an internal competition, sustainability projects by Datwyler apprentices received awards.

Datwyler is installing “Uri’s largest photovoltaic system” at its Schattdorf site, with an annual production of around 800,000 kilowatt hours. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of around 200 four-person single-family homes. The project also involves the company’s own electrician apprentices.

The Environmental Impact Award is presented to the Alliance-to-Zero. Datwyler is shortlisted thanks to the multiple measures it has taken to reduce its environmental footprint.
