Materials Development

The rapid development of electrification in the mobility industry has created a demand for innovative materials and surface technologies that offer unique combinations of technical properties for new applications. Datwyler works closely with its customers, developing advanced materials tailored to a specific task and environmental conditions, delivering system-critical components for a lifetime of performance.

New materials for new applications

The global mobility industry is currently going through a paradigm shift. Whether it’s electrification, automation, sustainability, or simply the way we use our vehicles, there are a number of emerging trends that are shaping the future of mobility, including battery systems, hydrogen fuel cells, dielectric coolants, and the need for endurance.

Using decades of experience and the latest technology, Datwyler is constantly working on a range of new elastomer, liquid silicone rubber (LSR), and thermoplastic compounds, such as flame-resistant, printable, and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials, as well as materials with electrical and thermal conductivity for effective insulation.
