Drive profitable growth
We can only meet the needs of customers, employees and society if we are a company that is growing. One of the most important prerequisites is the enhancement of our market positions and the segmentation of markets and customers.
To complement organic growth, at Datwyler we continue to focus on acquisitions that open up new regions, technologies or market segments for us. The expansion of healthcare production capacities in the US and India or the acquisitions of Parco in the US and Bins in Brazil are good examples of our growth strategy.
Achievements
Focus on market and core competencies
Expanded manufacturing capacity for high-value components
Objectives
Intensify early project engagement and co-engineering
Significantly increase the number of new product lines
Accelerate digitization
Datwyler wants to be proactive in using the new opportunities and prospects of digitization as a competitive advantage. By making targeted investments in ICT systems and applications, we increase the efficiency of business processes, improve data quality, increase IT security and facilitate collaboration within the company and with our customers.
For example, we use big data for proactive customer analysis in the distribution business or for forward-looking maintenance in the plants of the Sealing Solutions corporate division.
Achievements
First fully digitalized plant (FirstLline® plant in the USA)
Achieved automation of group-wide business processes
Objectives
Rapidly expand level of automation and industry 4.0 approach in all regions and markets
Increase
agility
The increasingly rapid changes in markets and overall conditions call for speed, flexibility and adaptability. The basis of our values, the declaration “We are entrepreneurs”, is the ideal foundation for an agile and innovative organization.
Our structure enables us to delegate decision-making powers to the individual market to the greatest extent possible. This makes it easy for our customers to do business with us.
Achievements
Introduced a new leadership culture to drive people empowerment
Established a global network to drive and support agile ways of working
Objectives
Speed up decision-making
Continue to build a self-learning organization
Advance sustainability
As a company with a long-term focus, we are aware of our responsibility towards our stakeholders, society and the environment. This is reflected, among other things, in our membership of the UN Global Compact, which we joined in 2009, and our GRI sustainability report.
We have public targets to reduce resource consumption per unit of revenue, offer attractive working conditions and maintain ethical business practices with zero tolerance targets. With our proactive chemical compliance management, we go far beyond the legal requirements.
2019: Reduction of relative resource consumption for the third year in a row.
Silver rating and top 25% in EcoVadis rating.
Objectives
Carbon neutrality as a long-term objective.
Continuous reduction of resource consumption per revenue unit.

Embracing change with an open mind-set.
I am proud to work for a company that enhances the agility of their workforce. We encourage our employees to adopt an open mind-set that allows them to embrace change. As a consequence, the organization will be able to alter its direction swiftly when required or adjust to operate successfully.

Sustainability as a strategic priority.
I am happy to work for a company that has made it a strategic priority to advance sustainability. We have nominated a cross-functional core team that is working on this initiative, and I am a proud contributor. Together, we have defined the focus topics so that we as a company fulfil our purpose and take up our corporate, social, and ecological responsibilities.

Each of us can be agile.
I like working at Datwyler because of the great project variety and possibility to bring myself in to the fullest. Our agility movement gives me the feeling that each of us can contribute to our organisational change. It's a movement we join together, which makes us think out of the box and reinforces our collaboration globally.
